The word is chutzpa – and it’s hard to imagine a better way to describe UC Berkeley (UCB) Vice Provost Sheldon Zedeck’s assignment of Arthur Reingold to investigate misconduct allegations against Professor Peter Duesberg, PhD. Johnson Tagarisa grew up during the 1970s when his cousins, brothers and uncles worked in the mines of South Africa. Upon return to their native Zimbabwe, they spoke often of their experiences. By the time that people were starting to “die from AIDS in South Africa,” Johnson was old enough and educated enough to connect the dots. 8 Jun (WASH DC) - In an unusual and possibly unprecedented trial verdict, rendered after expert witnesses raised “reasonable doubt” about the general validity of what are commonly called “HIV tests,” a military judge at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina on May 17 acquitted an Army sergeant of aggravated assault for failing to disclose his HIV “status” to sexual partners. The charges could have resulted in 37 years imprisonment for Sgt. Tarence C. Dixon. (more…)

20 Nov - Last year, OMSJ posted this report about the non-specific injuries endured when Kevin Shipp transferred in 1999 from CIA headquarters to a U.S. Army weapons depot just north of San Antonio. His wife and children suffered from migraines, nosebleeds, strange rashes, bleeding gums, and frequent vomiting, as well as emergency-room trips for breathing difficulties. 11 Nov (AARP) - We have a job to do. Hungarian doctor Ignaz Semmelweis suggested 165 years ago that simply by washing their hands, physicians would reduce the high death rate among women during childbirth. He couldn’t prove it, though, and since he predated Louis Pasteur, antiseptics and antibiotics, Semmelweis’ advice was ignored. He was hounded out of his profession and died in disgrace. Much has changed. Still, health professionals have not learned to wash their hands. (more…)
