(INVESTOR’S BUSINESS DAILY) – John Kerry calls global warming “the world’s most fearsome weapon of mass destruction.” Has the secretary of state forgotten the world’s real WMDs? Or is he just off his medication?
But Secretary John Kerry, who dumped his military decorations in 1971 and was dumped by voters as a presidential candidate in 2004, should definitely be the first one out.
In a pathetic attempt to distract from the Obama administration’s foreign policy failures, Kerry on Sunday declared that “climate change can now be considered another weapon of mass destruction, perhaps the world’s most fearsome weapon of mass destruction.”
He was speaking to Indonesian students at a U.S. taxpayer-financed “American center” in a mall in Jakarta.
Aren’t there more important places for the secretary of state to be?
Like visiting allies to coordinate against terror regimes — such as soon-to-be-nuclear-armed Iran and already-nuclear-armed North Korea, which a 400-plus-page United Nations report just showed to be guilty of Nazi-like crimes against humanity?
That same day in Jakarta, Kerry, in his stocking feet, visited the massive Istiqlal Mosque, where he was so “grateful to the grand imam for allowing me to come.”
That was where, seven years ago, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, according to Agence France Presse, was “mobbed by a crowd of thousands eager to catch a glimpse of him and shake his hand.”
Afterward, the crowd shouted, “Fight America, fight Israel!” AP reported.
Instead of burning taxpayer-financed jet fuel and increasing his own carbon footprint to go to an Indonesian shopping center and preach about climate change, Kerry should be in Afghanistan working tirelessly to bring U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s 4-1/2 years of Taliban captivity to an end before he is mistreated to death — and without having to swap Taliban terrorists at Guantanamo Bay, as the Obama administration plans.
Kerry should be in the Middle East shoring up the unprecedented damage Obama has done to America’s relationship with Israel, or cleaning up the mess the president made by drawing a “red line” in the sand on Syrian chemical weapons use, then bringing humiliation to America by doing nothing.
Maybe Kerry should be in Moscow repairing the damage he did by inviting Russian ruler Vladimir Putin to fill the vacuum Obama created in Syria — which Putin proceeded to use to bolster his friend, Syria’s terrorist-backing President Bashar Assad.
Or Kerry could be working to fix the START treaty, which gives Russia two or three times as many warheads as America.
The world is filled with threats to U.S. national security demanding the secretary of state’s attention.
If John Kerry is so delusional that he really thinks the dubious, politicized “threat” of global warming is comparable to nuclear proliferation, then he belongs on a shrink’s couch — not in the chief diplomat’s chair.
