THe
following anti-HIV drugs cause
“PSYCHIATRIC ABNORMALITIES”
All of
these highly addictive drugs – alone or in combination with other HIV drugs - affect
users the same way that illicit drugs like LSD, cocaine, heroin, ecstasy and methamphetamines
affect the brain. Like other addictive
drugs, these punish patients who interrupt HIV drug treatment by causing the
onset of physically and psychologically distressing withdrawal
syndrome, which can last for months.
This withdrawal
syndrome is significant in that, like cocaine, alcohol and heroin withdrawal,
they compromise immune function, suppress “T-cell counts” and elevate “viral
loads” the same way that clinicians identify the onset of “full-blown AIDS.” The distress caused by withdrawal generally
occurs within 10-14 days of interruption and can last several months.
Because
Sustiva (Efavirenz) is legal, addicts who receive these drugs can smoke it like
crack cocaine without fear of arrest (unless driving a motor vehicle). Some of these drugs, like Atripla, contain Sustiva (Efavirenz).
